THANKS TO "THE BOSS"...
When you talk about tradition in high school girls basketball, you have to talk about Coach Mike Munro. Munro led the Manistee Chippewas from 1980 to 1994. However, he did more than that for high school girls basketball. As one of the driving forces in the state, he along with his fellow coaches in Michigan brought the sport of girls basketball to the forefront.
On a personal note, I was fortunate enough to be chosen by Mike to begin my coaching career at the freshman level, where eventually I moved up to JV and then Varsity in 1995. As a coach, he was the best. As a friend, he is all you could ever ask for. As a person, he is one you want your kids to grow up like.
My thanks to him for everything, too much to mention. To learn from the best, not only on the court, but off as well was truly an honor.

Of course, no coach can survive without the support of his family. My wife and assistant coach, Michelle Kott played for the Chippewas from 1983-86. She is the love of my life and my guiding light. My children, Kenny, Kevin, Emilee, Natalee and Kaden will always be my pride and joy. Together, we enjoy the game of basketball and the lessons it teaches us in life.

Kaden takes a break in our winter wonderland.
I have also been blessed with two wonderful parents, Ken and Del Kott, who have let me find my own way in life, but followed every move. Two people who have helped me through the tough times, cheered me through the good and steered me through the rough waters with never ending support.
